Well folks, I've loaded up the truck and it is on its way to my new address in Texas. I used a service called U-Pack, a division (subsidiary?) of ABF trucking.
I'm a big proponent of giving and receiving quality customer service, so be forwarned that ABF is more about the service and not so much the quality of customer interaction (communication) of said service; now that i know where they put their priority, i know what to expect should i need their services again. All-in-all, I'm glad this step is completed. Moving is tough work and i admire those that have chosen that as a career path. I would need a long hot nightly soak in some epsome salts to get through it as a profession!
The good news is that you sleep like a rock from the effort expended. I didnt take all that i wanted, but i did pack all that i needed, so it was a somewhat cathartic experience. I saw that I'm the son of a coon-ass (cajun) packrat, and so i got to address some of that generational curse and happy to say was able to break away from portions of it.
Repeating "i am not this stuff" certainly helped, so, thank you to my lil sis for reminding me what's important to take with, and what's important to leave behind.
