After studying film at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, Maja decided to take a more challenging path and moved her passion for art and acting, along with herself, to the United States. It was when she got accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, a prestigious acting school in Los Angeles she knew that she is fully committed into becoming a professional actress. There, she acted in many plays, several times as the lead. After graduating she performed her role in the play "Halfway" at the South Coast Repertory Showcase and subsequently started working in the industry right away, participating in some very successful projects, as well as creating her own content.
"My goal is to constantly stay inspired and inspire others. Film and theater are one of the most beautiful and important arts, in my opinion. Seeing how stories told through this amazing medium change and evolve, how they touch, excite and educate people just makes you want to be a part of it," she described.
From her youngest age, Lakomy also felt extremely connected to music. She played piano for ten years, danced professionally her whole life, and being musically inclined helped her learn several languages and dialects. Because of this great passion she always wanted to act in a music video. With her talent, it wasn't hard to make it happen. This year, she was part of two music videos, that were shot in California, one of them being for a song by Andrea Bocelli, the Grammy and Oscar nominated, Golden Globe winning international star. The second one was for a song "Tribulation" by Jack Gillette, a songwriter and award-winning composer, directed by Paige Adlhoch.
"We hired Maja as the lead female role after her incredible audition. She was the best actress for the job. Maja was always ready to work and took direction very well. Not only was she a great actress, but she was a genuine and sweet presence to have on set," said Adlhoch.
Lakomy brought new ideas to set and did every take successfully. No wonder that her professionalism lands her such wonderful parts and industry people choose her to work with. "Tribulation" was one of my favorite projects that I had a privilege to act in. The crew was so professional, determined and thoughtful, which impressed me extremely, especially on account of their young age. Besides this incredible atmosphere I was able to work in, the role that I played was definitely one of the most challenging I've had. My acting partner, Shadow LaValley and I played very emotional scenes together and had to visit the deepest and most sensitive aspects of selves and allow them to get released. It was truly a beautiful and intense experience that I will never forget", Lakomy described.
"Tribulation" tells a story about abuse, trauma, trust, love and acceptance. The music video is being submitted to multiple film festivals and awaits its release at the end of this year.
Between waiting for premieres of the music videos, Lakomy has several projects to be shot in 2019, including two feature films. She is represented by Avant Artists Talent Agency in Los Angeles, for theatrical, commercial, print and voice over, and every day she anticipates new experiences that Hollywood is going to bring her way.
