Welcome back friends. This is a continuation of the story which I had started some days back. Here is a link to the first episode of my story. Spend couple of minutes to read part 1 because this story will make sense to you only if you have read the earlier part.
It was early morning and the sun rays were peeping through the tall pine trees. The chirping of birds, which usually felt pleasant, was irritating Brandon today. He wanted to hear nothing but Sally's sweet voice. He wanted to hear her giggles. But he knew it was not possible anymore.
Brandon passed the back door of his house to notice something strange. A gigantic weird creature was escaping from their backdoor. The creature was carrying a sickle soaked in blood. The blood looked fresh enough to make Brandon believe that the creature had attacked his family. He watchfully followed the creature. It looked like a well known figure to him. Brandon hid himself behind a tree and threw a stone near it to seek its attention. Brandon was shocked to see its face as it turned back. It was Arpito. He had grown 10 times his size. He looked furious. The usually innocent looking Arpito looked violent this time. In a moment the giant Arpito continued with his walk towards the front door of the house.
Just before Brandon could return from the shock, he was struck with another mysterious phenomenon. As soon as Aripto walked into the sunlight, he magically shrunk back into the small Aripto. The furious eyes turned into innocent one. The sickle held by the giant Arpito suddenly became heavy for the small Arpito and dropped off his hands. He looked here and there as if he was lost. He blew the whistle in his neck hoping for Sally to find him. But Sally wasn’t around anymore to find him. He ran towards the front door and entered the house. He saw Sally lying on the floor with blood all around. Arpito started poking her in the stomach to wake her up from sleep. He had never seen a human die. He just knew that they sleep at night. He continued poking her but she never woke-up. Watching him poke Sally continuously Brandon beat him off. Arpito approached Brandon again trying to hug his leg but Brandon kicked him away, this time with fear.
Both Brandon and Arpito were puzzled as to what was wrong.
Arpito walked off into the forest taking baby steps. Brandon followed him. He had to figure out the mystery behind the giant Arpito. Arpito wandered aimlessly in the forest. He walked for hours and Brandon continued to follow him.
It was noon and it was scorching hot. Tired Arpito sat under a small tree to take rest. Brandon too hiding from Arpito's vision rested in a naturally built tree shelter. Brandon was tired after spending the stormy night in the forest and a long walk following Arpito. He fell asleep in a couple of minutes. His body relaxed but his mind was disturbed. He could still hear the giggles of his little daughter.
Brandon was awakened by the sudden screams of eagles. A group of eagles was flying in the sky aiming at Arpito. They had selected their prey. A small creature walking alone in the forest was always vulnerable to attacks by eagles. Brandon knew what would happen next. He ran towards Arpito, picked him up and returned back to the shelter. Arpito hugged Brandon assuming everything was normal. But Brandon did not save him out of affection. He saved him because he did not want the mystery of giant Arpito to remain unresolved. Unfolding the mystery which took away his loving family was his only aim in life now.
