This is my dog Neo. He loves nothing more than to lounge around the campfire while I put up the tent and cook!
I wanted to share this second image with my Steemit friends to show you what a rare outback kitchen looks like. We don't have many of them down under and I captured this one when I traveled through South Australia's coastal region with my family.
The kids found a swing (bit blurry), the dogs had a play, while I cooked veggie parcels on the campfire.
On a more serious note, a few days after the above images were taken, a huge dust storm hit our camp and filled our tent with red dust. That night we had a massive storm and the tent filled with water, turning the red dust to mud and our tent was ripped to ribbons. We lost a Samsung tablet, our tent, clothing and bedding to the storm.
It may not look like a lot of water but underneath is a whole lot of boggy mud that stranded many campers.
And we tried to leave...
The road out of the campground was a tiny bit flooded.
After the storms we were stranded at the campground for ten wet days. The campground owners let us use their storage shed to bunk down until we could leave.
