Hello dear Steemians,
As I told you in my intro post, I love mountain climbing and my 2nd post will be about it. It was an exciting trail last August ... to reach the peak of Mt.Ulap in Itogon, Benguet was a dream. I finally made it together with some members of the Taklad Mountaineering Club. At first, I was not sure if I would go because all my friends on that week end got events of their own. And my club has already planned the tour ahead... because I did not want to miss the opportunity, I bragged myself and joined the trail.
Our group met in Cubao, Quezon City the night before , the club organizer had vans to accommodate those who were coming along .. We paid around 850 Php for each one of us and the price included environmental fee and a trail guide. I prepared some sandwiches and water to bring along because the trail was between 5-7 hours back and fort.
It was actually a day hike that ended that very same afternoon... all of us in the club are thrill seekers who love mountain climbing and hiking ... that day our goal was to reach the peak of Mt. Ulap (Clouds). Called as such because of the so many clouds gathered in its peak area. Mt. Ulap is 1846 meters high above sea level. It has three peaks namely Ambunao, Paoay then Gungal Rock.
We started at the break of dawn at around 5:00 AM. The trail was very nice, with grassland all over and pine ridges that depicted cool temperatures.
By the time the sun was up, we passed by some cattle being herded in the grassland, it was a nice scenery and we wanted to take some photos along with the cows ...but one cow chased us so we started running as fast as we can! LOL!
Along the way, I took a picture of this golden mushrooms as well as of some wildflowers that were so lovely! Nature is a wonder in itself because the plants up there simply grow and grow and their flowers were so colorful, so wonderful even if nobody takes care of them.
Even wild strawberries were growing up there
When we reached the summit Of Mt. Ulap, we made a break and more photos were taken. It was mid afternoon when we begun descending to finally go back to our vans and go home. Although tired but with happy faces, we can say that our mission was accomplished We went home with happy memories and value the good camaraderie of our members. Until next time and until our next destination, we will surely be there.
I hope you like my content for today. I will be posting more adventures soon.
Take care everyone!
