You ever have one of those weeks where the only thing that will cheer you up is to take a little adventure and spend a little money?
I just had one. I stopped working last Friday around 2pm and mapping all the pawn shops in Murfreesboro, TN, a city 45 minutes away from me. I’d picked all the pawn shops in my area clean and wanted to see what this college town had to offer. I was not disappointed.
Stop 1 - Toliver's Jewelry & Loan Co
This place had more silver than I could buy up so if you’re ever in the area, check them out. I will definitely be back next month. I was able to get $20 each out the door for all 4 ounces. I didn’t have anything particular in mind, mostly just things that stood out to me.
I’m not a fan of the rebel flag craze, but I’ve never seen one before so I grabbed it up.
The wolf reminded me of the Dogecoin dog and my daughter and I used to howl out in grocery stores to find each other too. I just had to have it.
The Camel round was something that you could buy from the catalog with your Camel cash back when smoking was cool and I remember Camel being one of the first advertisements I really liked when I was young. I smoked for a summer back in 1997 and Camel unfiltered was my jam.
The Conch Republic round reminded me of a friend that grew up in Key West and told be a story about how they tried to become their own state called the Conch Republic. I bought it thinking of her.
Stop 2 - Mid Tenn’s Pawn & Loan
This is about a tenth of what I got in foreign coins for $15 bucks. I pulled out these 6 junk silver coins and added them to the collection. I’ll ebay the others individually.
Stop 3 - Some dude from OfferUp
Looking online can be exhausting for a good deal on silver, but sometimes you get lucky. I found this salty dog looking to unload a few ounces and I made him an $18 per ounce offer and he took it. Other than not being able to pick out the coins and the box reeking of cigarette smoke, it was a great experience. He even threw in 5 silver-platted (copper core) Bitcoin commemorative coins for free. I’ll be giving these away in future post promotions.
My favorite ones are the German 1oz bar and the Egyptian 1/4oz round.
Check out these weird series of 12 gram .925 rounds from the Italian biopharmaceutical company, Dompe Farmaceutici. Dated 1986. Apparently, they are 5 in the series and this guy gave up after 30 years because he couldn’t complete the set.
The 10oz Bar from SilverGold Bull was bought at spot and came in the mail the same day so I included it ;)
If you’d like to follow me, I will definitely follow you back. I’m here to build community and support my fellow earthlings. I’ll mostly be writing about my travels with , crypto day trading, silver stacking, logo design, Squarespace website design & cryptocurrency. I promise to be polite (as possible).
