and I were hiking thru the forest across the street to get to the old derelict road that follows the stream uphill. I used to hike this path with my father when I was much younger to check out the stream and crawdads that live in the clean freshwater.. Back then everything was much less grown in and taken over by shrubbery, and the water wasn't tainted with insane amounts of grass fertilizer or whatever chemicals they use on the grass, because it all runs off into the stream now. It could certainly use some maintenance soon, by yours truly.. need to make sure it is still a community path first. Deer and other animals are the keepers of the old road now, they trample down the grass and have completely defecated everywhere on the pathway, just savage animals they are.
Before the golf course was built, before they terra-formed huge portions of land to form the tee boxes.. there was a large singular hill, which atop sat my friends mansion he and his brother and parents lived in together. The mansion was surrounded by massive pine trees, in a near picturesque manner. Then the mansion blew up.... but that's for another story. Everyone was ok.
