I never thought I would see the day. I've actually not done much in the way of online marketing in the past year and a half. I pretty much gave up when I was spending a bunch of money on Facebook ads and not really seeing any results. I don't have a particular niche that isn't completely saturated that I'm passionate about, so creating a website or a blog has been somewhat out of the question for me. Not to mention I am pretty risk-adverse, so paying for webhosting when I'm not seeing a return isn't something I feel good about.
But, nevertheless, I finally got an affiliate commission.
I didn't believe the email at first because the subject line was something about a payout. It was from Trezor, a popular offline cryptocurrency wallet. I haven't touched my Trezor in some time, due to being a "buy and hold" type of guy. I did a big BTC selloff several months ago thinking that I would do it before going into the red. My tax statement determined that I got out too late and I took a small loss. I guess that's what I get for speculating. I still believe in the technology though. I'm just grossly risk-adverse. Fortune favors the bold, which is why I don't have a fortune!
Regardless, I don't know where I posted my link or who clicked on it, but I got a commission. It's equal to about $1.45 as of yesterday, so it's not much, but it was surprising to see. This means that I had posted something or shared some kind of information somewhere with someone, and they purchased something that I recommended. I also take that to mean that if I did it once, then I can do it again. I'd like to do that again. I think I'm going to do it again.
