JUST DO IT!!
Famous last words. And among my brothers’ favourite. Some time ago, and out of the blue, I received a message from my brother to: “Check out Steemit”. To my many and numerous questions about “Steemit” his repeated response was; “Just do it”.
Now, my brothers’ spelling would never win the Spelling Bee so for all I knew – and assumed – Steemit was an alternate way of cooking vegetables. On my asking “WHAT is it?” He replied “Just do it!” “WHY?” “Where?” “How?”….”JUST DO IT!!” And so I have. Considering that I already know how to steam vegetables, this is now my attempt at something rather different to preparing a plate of healthy greens. Thanks for the tip, Brother. This is me “Just doing it”.
Living so far from the usual city (and therefor cell phone) conveniences, the signup process took weeks. On receiving the password I proceeded to read everything I could to give me a broader understanding of Steemit. As well as the reason behind my brothers recommendation. In the process I opened plenty of Steemit tabs, much to the horror of our very slow country service provider. Until gradually the pieces of the cyber puzzle fell into place. I think….
My passion – well one of them – is to write. Ever since I was a little child, having discovered the wonders of the now almost outdated pen and paper, I have loved to write. The cupboards of my room, the files of my school bag and pockets of my jeans were always brimming with scribbled ideas for great stories and philosophies of my budding young mind. But, like that quirky spinster aunt with a bag of candy and a bad sense of humour, so my dream to become the world travelling author remained, a bittersweet dream. If Steemit is a platform for writing and bringing a chuckle or life lesson to someone else then pour the coffee and let the scribbling begin.
