A couple of weeks ago when checking the status of my SteemHUNT, I got a surprise: The Hunt value of one of my product hunts showed this somewhat heavy number "666". Fortunately a dot was part of the number, deviating the meaning of this number from it's true meaning.
Ah well, I'm not superstitious and experienced no noticeable negative results; Could be the 'love' tag I used; Maybe it had an annihilation effect :)
I think it did something positive instead; I was triggered to check my posts for the 4 to 5 weeks weeks before.
What are the Odds?
Out of around 30 posts, 7 times the rewards showed the largest part of a full house, 3 the same digits. Statistics would give this a pretty slim chance to happen. Only 0,01% of all the number in the range of 0 to 999 have 3 same digits, while almost 25% of my most recent posts had this special 3 digit number as rewards (some pending some final post payout value).
Sure, now you think I check my posts gazillion times a day, therefore pretty easy to get to see this special numbers; But honestly, I don't look that frequently at my posts; More like the next day, rather than frequently during the day.
Do I need to review my opinion?
Statistics is not valid at these relatively small numbers. Applying that rule, means 'pure luck' was at play!
But still, it almost seems other forces are at play; Forces we can't see; Forces we may not be aware of; Forces we don't believe in; Forces from 'another planet'.
