I understand that these articles present a somewhat clumsy version of the technology, however, for the purposes of this question I encourage you to think long term. History has a tendency to be written by the unexpected. Often huge moments in history can be chalked down to the mundane. Nuclear war was nearly started by the radar malfunction. Economies have crashed through misunderstandings.
The reality is that it is not unreasonable to assume that AI will soon be able to conjure something resembling an essay answer. Given enough data, it is not even unreasonable to assume that it could soon become identical. Is the education system even prepared to reshuffle so as to completely eliminate all individual home work?
