Most would trust the MS Word doc spell check to fix spelling errors.
-- Most find it convenient to 'auto fill' a search term in the Youtube app. But we are more advanced in 2023.
Many now entrust their lives, their children, to algorithms that drive their cars. But we'll do one better.
Others would take it a step further, handing over the entire reigns of weapons, of all kinds - including drones - to autonomous systems. Now, you may be the worst judge of character, but programming code, no matter how advanced has always been prone to certain problems ... and you could easily confirm that "what you ask is not what you get" is a frequent problem of AI systems.
With regard to human life, even the most advanced algorithms cannot distinguish between a mail box and a human baby.
Today we can confidently say that the wheels have come off.
-- There are no safeguards to technology, no red line it cannot cross. You can believe that a freak wildfire took Maui off the map, incinerating over 1,000 people in all likelihood. Or you can consider that everyone from insurance companies to drone operations high level decision-making are now relegated to autonomous systems, like ChatGPT, with biases and failures built-in.
Oh and if you have any doubts, ChatGPT by OpenAI is the king and ruler of the vast majority of these companies and entities today. OpenAI, one company's faulty product, is now deciding who to hire and who to maim and kill.
You may say, well, surely a human still says "yes" or "no" to the machines. You don't take off the fail safes and let it operate willy nilly... But yes, yes they do. Microsoft has worked in cooperation with Google and other advanced corporations to provide the setup and housing for these systems used by military contractors and agencies.
The evidence that these are AI made is out there, the video footage of beams of focused light causing incineration fires is out there. But will you believe we live in this world, or do we still live in a world where wild fires suddenly and conveniently eradicate human beings, as if a light switch had been turned on? Notably: Bezos and others have been swooping in to purchase the land just prior to this event.
Do wild fires create sharp-edged delineations that they won't cross, as if on a vector grid?
DEW results in sights like these:
"His purpose is to promote the authority of the first beast with the ability to perform great signs, even making fire come down out of Heaven." - Revelations
