I've listened to an very interesting podcast the other day from Glenn Beck with Jeff Brown as a guest.
Part of their exchange was to look into the advancements in AI that are right at our doorsteps!
Jeff thinks that already in 2020 we'll have about 300 million 5G connected smart phones with the ability to access an AI on super computer level that provides personal assistant capabilities on the level of an exclusive concierge service of the present, right now only accessible to the rich and famous.
He also thinks that with the recent progress in quantum computing is not a far leap to go from 50/51 qbits to 256 qbits and by this to render all of our encryption of the present useless because such an quantum machine could possibly break any given encryption in the matter of milliseconds!
What this means for the information security industry or for crypto projects I leave up to your own imagination!
I know for a fact that in the infosec environment there are a lot of smart people trying to solve this at the moment. For now without any sufficient idea or even solution for this!
It's outright scary imo!
Jeff expects that we will have an ASI (artificial super intelligence) in the next 8 to 10 years!
His estimation is aligned with some other peoples guesses on this like Elon Musk who also recently talked about the progress in his Neuralink company (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuralink) from which he expects to deliver a functioning machine-human interface within the next 5 years!
What will this mean for mankind as a whole when the first people are linked to ASI directly?
In my view we won't have a chance to compete with such capabilities and it might just come down to "if you can't beat them join them!".
Glenn used a nice analogy to visualize the gravity of these changes that are upon us in the near future!
"If there is a cake sitting in the middle of a room filled with people, celebrating someones birthday for instance, they fly has not a shimmer of an idea what people are, what a celebration is or what people are talking there. She just knows about sugar as food and so she feasts on the cake"
You know that we are the fly in this picture and ASI being everything else, right?
So, do you think like Jeff that this is just around the corner and we will live to see those all changing developments soon?

Lastly what are your estimations on the quantum computer quantum leaps that are to be expected?
A down to earth question in this regard would be what will happen to your crypto holdings, your bank account and the military that is - hopefully - protecting your country at the moment?
