Hello Air-Clinicians & Friends,
When you are on a blockchain that shows you how impossible things can be made real, what do you do??
You Do The Impossible!!
Recall that we have been previously mentioning our preparations for the scheduled Offline Cancer Awareness Campaign following the launch of the #AIR-CLINIC Outreach Foundation. We did a street view which was reported here.
As God willed it, the programme was a success. We all converged from different places to the Community High School, Abak Road, Uyo City, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The team included ,
,
,
and myself. The Principal was there to welcome us all in the school.
We had a mini-meeting where we discussed that the campaign was best for high school science students in Senior secondary classes 2 and 3 (SS2 & SS3). They are the ones close to writing their final secondary school exams and would be mentally capable of understanding what we were saying.
We arrived with equipments for setup including;
- A projector,
- A Sound system
- An Electricity generator
- Wires and sockets
We equally came with food items;
- Light refreshments including canned soft drinks and malt,
- Meatpies & buns
We wore our outfits, smiled in our hearts and setoff to go heal some souls.
The lecture started around 2:30pm after the school had dismissed. The students eagerly waited for us to complete the setup of the projector, sound system, laptop, power point etcz. The lecture was to be delivered by Dr. George ( ).
Students turned out in their numbers. Even though our emphasis was on the final/penultimate year science students, there were just so many of them. Gladly, we were fully ready to talk to the numbers both concerning their mind (education) and concerning their body (health & refreshment).
To our amazement and joy, many of them were smart kids. They showed their talents and knowledge off at every slightest indication. They asked awe-inspiring questions and shared their stories with us all. They even took notes. Can you imagine?
After the lecture, the light refreshment was distributed among them. They ate while the 2nd speaker @Xpressng entertained their minds. She hosted the Quiz segment.
We all love food. Don't We?
We also came with Jotters to distribute to those that gave us correct answers. It was the ultimate reward because it allowed these school children to have a constant reminder of the lessons that were shared on that day! Also it indirectly suggests to them that they should keep schooling!
At the end, we were duely thanked by their very able Senior Prefect. It was a perfect outreach and we had a glorious joy in our hearts after that episode. You can see us on the road while leaving the school environment.
This part will be in whispers, we were really hungry after the event. Lolx. So we went to a Kitchen suggested by @Jeline to have our meal. Damn! We were tired. Just take a look at this picture.
Before eating!
So after we had a taste of some African dishes in that restaurant, we regained our energy. Hurray! Cancer awareness campaign was done and dusted. It was a huge success we might add. Just take a look at our glowing faces...
Food is life!
