Yes, yes I know I mispelled Airdrops.... It's the sort of thing you notice right after you can't do anything about it!
So, Airdrops (also known as candy) are a way to get free crypto for doing some little tasks. Usually this involves joining a Telegram chat room or a Twitter follow. I tend to steer clear of the ones that require a KYC (Idenity) verification or anything to do with Facebook. These might turn out to the be the most legitimate ones, often the KYC is required for some regulatory stuff for ICOs, so they are just covering their legal bases, but my identity documents are probably not something that I want to just hand out left right and centre to anyone who offers a few "free" tokens.
Airdrops are also a way for ICO's to get a quick community, however I have to wonder how loyal these communities are...
So, I would advise you create a Telegram account (and mute it) and also a disposable Twitter and email accounts. This will let you take part in most of the airdrops with little risk. Also, an ETH address (sometimes NEO or others) is also necessary to receive the airdropped tokens.
