Now that you are used to concept albums (because that's the only thing I will show you guys, for real) I'll make you listen to a band its sole purpose is to sound like the soundtrack of an epic fantasy movie, and when I say listen I say LISTEN, I warn you, do not, and I repeat DO NOT WATCH THE OFFICIAL VIDEOS FROM THIS BAND, those things can make you cringe (or laugh) to DEATH! Warnings aside, LET'S GO!!
DAY 5
Source
Hailing from Italy and formed by (a bunch of overconfident weirdos) Fabio Lione at the vocals, Luca Turilli at the guitars and Alex Staropoli at the keyboards released POWER OF THE DRAGONFLAME their 4th and last entry on the Saga (yeah the whole series of albums are a saga, and I'm not even counting the EP's) called SYMPHONY OF THE ENCHANTED LANDS in April 2002 and delivered a powerful final chapter full of epic hymns, choruses and over the top orchestral compositions.
Let's feel the mighty Power of the Dragonflame
Let's begin with a mash-up of the two first tracks called IN TENEBRIS and KNIGHTRIDER OF DOOM respectively, these songs serve as intro and first kick to the album and this executed perfectly (not surprising they do that in every album), fast-paced and intense, they give a frantic beginning to the last album of the saga, a tragedy, but DAMN EPIC ONE! With demons and warriors and swords and people dying... a lot of those yeah!
THE MARCH OF THE SWORDMASTER is an epic hymn in all its right, epic phrases with an epic bridge and a even more EPIC chorus, the funny thing about this song is that its melody and structure is based on a really lovely Italian song from the Renaissance era, like FOR REAL check it out IT CRAZY!
Ok, you'll have to sit down for this one, why, you ask? Well, because GARGOYLES, ANGELS OF DARKNESS (what's up with those names lol) is 19 minutes long, of course, this is the last track of the album and grand finale of the whole saga so I can understand why is so long, but don't get me wrong this is an amazing, epic and sublime theme, nothing is wasted in it, it even has an epilogue-like narration at the end to give a proper conclusion to a journey that began in 1997 with LEGENDARY TALES their first ever album, talk about planning ahead right.
As a whole, this is the most varied album of this band, the stay true to their style of film-score metal but they add a lot of elements from other genres to the mix and they achieve a balance almost perfectly and as a chapter that closes a journey this album does an amazing work, this is by far my favorite from this band.
TIME FOR THE RULES OF THE CHALLENGE, BITCHES!!!
You need to pick your 7 all-time favorite albums. Post one every day for seven days in a row. (EASY)
One song (at least) from each album has to be in your playlist currently. Oh yeah, you also have to share this song with us through YouTube. (piece of cake)
The Cover of the Album has to be the main theme of your post each day. (GG,EZ)
No need to explain why the specific album is a favorite of yours, but if you feel like it, please do! (Nah, do it, that's the fun part)
Use #albumchallenge as a tag. (mmm just because I like you)
Last but not least, nominate a different steemian each day. (SO, YOU'RE THE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS YOU LITTLE...)
This I would like to nominate because I heard from a birdie that he likes this kind of metal, so, go nuts dude!
