I want to start sharing some views on alt coins that I feel are worth discussing. If you find these types of blogs helpful, please let me know in the comments and I'll do more in the future. I intend to stick to the facts as much as possible, and hopefully shed light on some alt coins that steemit users may not have heard of before or may not have a good grasp of what they bring to the crypto community. I will try to point out any positive and negative views of coins in an unbiased way, and I am in no way affiliated with any coin's development. I am not soliciting investors and want everyone to make up their own minds. That being said, let's jump right in to my thoughts on a new coin with some actual new technology breaking into the scene.
Stratis Platform is an ICO coin, which means it was created and given value by "burning" another coin or in some cases, submitting the coins to a development fund to be utilized for expenses and labor related to designing the platform. I am going to assume everyone still reading has the basic knowledge of how and why an ICO is used on the inception of some coins. While I don't mind the development fund version of an ICO, I find the idea of coin destruction counter intuitive in most cases and rarely invest in those types of ICO. I feel that Stratis has the same basic concept of coins such as NXT or even steemit. It is a platform to develop further apps, programs, and block chains on. The Stratis Platform draws one major and clear distinction that other somewhat similar services have not done, and the difference is what makes it noteworthy.
Stratis is being created to allow programmers the ability to utilize block chain technology that may have never been involved in crytpo or even without knowledge of the crypto world. Stratis is going to be a platform where programmers can use C# to develop new ideas and programs on block chain technology without having to learn about how block chains work and how to create a chain. It takes the concept of NXT and it's "build your own block chain" approach to crypto, and brings crypto to a whole new audience. There is still a large segment of programmers that are not involved in crypto, for whatever reason, and with C# being the predominant computer programming language in the world, I can see the potential for bringing a lot of new talent into the realm of crypto currencies and new applications being developed to further our cause.
I want to point out my thoughts on the platform and welcome any discussion in the comments. Personally I think this could be a huge breakthrough for crypto. I don't know that it will be extremely profitable, although at the moment the ICO tokens are increasing in value. I am looking at the future value of supporting the platform for crypto as a whole, and I think that getting new developers easy access to block chain technology can only benefit us in the long run. I feel that this could be the next Ethereum and so far I have not found any huge holes in the ICO or found any red flags that I have had in other similar platforms. The initial dump by ICO investors wanting quick return seems to have subsided, and the stake value of the ICO tokens is holding a lot of tokens on the chain and off of exchanges. I don't expect any real developments until November when the next big milestone on the road map is coming, but no one can know what the value of the ICO tokens will ultimately be after we move to the platform. In the interest of full disclosure I am holding about .5 BTC worth of Stratis and I have zero intentions to sell any of it. It isn't a monetary gain hold, and I won't be discussing the price beyond the fact that it seems to be trending up after the initial ICO dumpers moved on. I feel the value of this platform, like steemit, is in the long-term value it adds to crypto and if I end up profiting in the end I'll be happy, but I still think that supporting the development and holding some stake in this coin could be beneficial for all of us (people invested in the crypto revolution) as a whole.
