This is pretty much what I did all day in between the usual chores. The story so far about Ms.Storee, my alter ego? First let me take you to the very start.
The idea of putting visual to my FreeWrites and stories has been quite a journey.I have discussed many ideas, tried a few, and I think this could be it.
Last year I purchased the Toonly software, then I realised I had to work with preset characters. They were too colourful and happy and half my stories are dark. It wasn't a good fit. I returned it and lost some money.
Then, I thought, ok let's work with a green screen. But that too, didn't quite work out apart from burning a hole in it on the first day. We set it up in a place we thought would fit. But the lighting wasn't good enough and there wasn't enough space not to be too close to throw my shadow on it. I was bleeding into my backdrop, I had a green halo around me.
I then moved that green screen around to another spot in the hopes that I could use natural light. But the space was very tight and the camera picked up things on both sides of the screen that I wasn't prepared to expose haha.
The space was also hot, and I would end up perspiring which didn't look good on camera. But I couldn't switch on the fan because the camera would then pick up the sound of the wind. So again, I was stuck.
A year of going back and forth. I am so grateful The Hubs entertains my nonsense and has never brought up my trial and errors even though we now have a few holes in the walls.
I had also considered using an Avatar inspired by Max Headroom. Remember him? Now I am revisiting this idea. So there, above is what I have so far. The only thing is, I can't seem to find hair or clothes, though I did create one version earlier today and managed to clothe her.
I am in the midst of playing around with the Trial version and I really like the pot on my head. It seems the perfect accessory for someone who is not the best of cooks. hahaha
This is the picture I took of me and worked with. The Hubs thinks the Avatar looks like a man. Perhaps because she is bald. But then again, I do have sharp/strong features and that could be why. I am sure some hair will fix that as soon as I find it.
I intend to tweak her as I go along. Waiting to have her perfect before starting may be me sabotaging myself again. So I am excited to see where this can go, and if you have used CrazyTalk software or know anyone who has, please do share what you know to help me make a decision. Would truly appreciate it.
Cheers,
