What a pleasant surprise, as I saw this and just had to stop to take some photos. This is a prize Brahman cow.
We were trying to get to the lake, as there are many Flamingo birds in it, but one has to have a permit, so we will go there once we get a permit.
But in the meantime come and have a look at these magnificent beasts.
She was digging here for some soft roots to eat.
This is her husband and he looked very intimidating.
I am 1'95 meters tall and this bull is at my shoulder height.
A happy couple having a Sunday walk next to the lake on the farm.
There were also other cattle around and I think that these are of the Afrikander breed.
Another surprise is that I discovered that the Brahman cattle were imported into our country from the USA in my birth year.
History
The Brahman was introduced to the South African beef cattle scene back in 1954 when eight males and ten females from Texas, USA, landed at Cape Town harbour.

This is the place of the mountain farms and there are many special breeds of animals, including race horses on the farms around and in the valleys of the mountains.
And That's All Friends!
