Think about it logically, look at the places that have enacted gun control and how it has worked.
Australia
One mass shooting and we brought in strict gun laws, since then no mass shootings.
United Kingdom
3 Mass shootings since 1987
France
3 mass shootings since 1995
America
1,052 incidents from 2013 through Dec. 2, 2015
Yeaaaaaa guns aren't the problem
The same arguments are always had by pro-gun advocates.
-"if we were allowed to conceal carry the shooter would of been taken out" Wrong, the shooter in Las Vegas was on the 30th floor of a hotel, people in the crowd would of been able to do nothing.
-"if you take away guns people will use knives/vehicles/ bombs etc etc" Yea cos a guy in a car could injure 500+ and kill 50+ before being stopped. same with a knife. possibly with a bomb but unlikely and much rarer because guess what, bombs are hard to get a hold of.
-"Chicago has the some of the toughest gun laws and still has heaps of gun violence" yea, because everywhere else doesn't and all you have to do is take a short trip interstate where laws are more lax.
-"the people that do these things use illegal guns " yea not all of them. Do you know how expensive it is to buy a gun and ammunition in Australia illegally? The cost alone makes it incredibly nonviable for criminals.
I know you like your guns, i know you dont want to get rid of your guns, but for your own damn sake at least make it harder to get guns.
The amount of shit you have to go through to get a hunting rifle or shotgun for farming in Australia means very few nutters are getting through.
Take note from the countries that have strict gun laws and the fact that it works. Maybe you wont realise until one of your loved ones is the one who dies.
Your gun culture is killing you and im afraid you may be too far gone now that even if you changed the laws it wouldn't help.
But surely its worth a shot, because if the latest shooting is anything to go by whatever you're doing aint working now
