To call the results of this weeks fantasy contest anything less than a tragedy would be an understatement. Once again I was defeated by one of my family members. At this point you are probably wondering why I even keep trying.
Maybe you are wondering "why am I even reading this? This guy obviously knows nothing about football". If you had said that before the season started I probably would have argued with you. At this point, I am willing to accept any possibility...
Right now I am in sole possession of last place. The good news is, there are two teams right above me tied for seventh place with only two wins a piece. One win could move me up a spot if I could just manage to pull one out.
The breakdown
Prescott continues to put up average numbers at quarter back. I'd love to see him have a killer game like he did at the beginning of the season. I am going to have to wait at least a couple of weeks for that since they are on bye this week.
No surprise my wide receivers continue to be a problem. I expect each of them to average about 12 points per week for me. It makes it really hard to win anything when two of them have scores right around three and the other one can't even reach that twelve point mark.
Kerryon Johnson getting hurt early in a high scoring game between the Lions and the Vikings was also a major letdown. Getting a paltry 2.3 points from him really put me in a tough spot. My kicker did fantastic with 12 points and my defense was pretty horrible with only 3 points.
The Bench
You can see that I left quite a few point on my bench this week. J. Brown is a recent acquisition I made that I wanted to watch for a week before I played him. Needless to say, I should have just played him and I might have been in a better position.
Likewise, Freeman would have been the better play at running back had I known Johnson was going to get hurt so quickly. Swapping my defenses would have made little difference and Wentz had a pretty horrible game as my backup quarter back.
It makes me a little concerned about next week when I have to put my starting quarterback on the bench for bye week. Fingers crossed Wentz has a career game to maybe help me get the win.
The Good News
The good news is 's team somehow continues to snag wins. I am actually very happy for her because she has had some pretty horrible teams over the years. I think she was starting to get a little disillusioned with the whole thing and having some success this year might change her mind.
Many of her wins can be attributed to the huge numbers that the New England Patriots defense is putting up this year. I hope it continues for her. She deserves every good thing this world has to offer.
Stop back next week to see if I can turn my luck around!
