Flying guests from abroad are always a welcome occasion to visit the fence of the NATO airfield Zell at Neuburg. In October some machines from Italy came to visit and in this article I will introduce two of them. First the AMX-T, where T stands for trainer, i.e. a two-seater training aircraft. The correct name is TA-11B, or AMX-T ACOL, the further development of the original trainer version from 2012. We can see it floating in here, the identifier is 51-84.
Fliegende Gäste aus dem Ausland sind immer ein willkommener Anlaß zu einem Besuch am Zaun des Nato Flugplatzes Zell bei Neuburg. Im Oktober waren einige Maschinen aus Italien hier zu Besuch und in diesem Artikel werde ich zwei davon vorstellen. Zuerst die AMX-T, wobei T für Trainer steht, also ein zweisitziges Ausbildungsflugzeug. Die richtige Bezeichnung ist TA-11B, oder AMX-T ACOL, also die Weiterentwicklung der ursprünglichen Trainerversion aus dem Jahre 2012. Wir sehen sie hier einschweben, die Kennung ist 51-84.
Shortly afterwards followed by an AMX Ghibli, type designation A-11B, a further development of the AMX ACOL also from 2012. Its identification is 51-50. One of the peculiarities of this aircraft is the excellent low-flying properties that they demonstrate here on every approach. The Eurofighters would never dare to stand so close above the fence.
Kurz darauf gefolgt von einer AMX Ghibli, Typenbezeichnung A-11B, eine Weiterentwicklung der AMX ACOL ebenfalls von 2012. Ihre Kennung ist 51-50. Eine der Besonderheiten dieses Flugzeugs ist die hervorragende Tiefflugeigenschaft die sie uns hier bei jedem Anflug demonstrieren. So knapp über dem Zaun würden sich die Eurofighter niemals trauen.
