The National Debt. Is projected to hit 100%+ of Gross Domestic Product. (GDP). This is the combined total of annual profits of every company, man, woman and child in the country.
That’s a serious number and a serious debt sapping the ability of the government to function. But before you jump for Anarchist Joy at the Bankruptcy of the United States Government; it’s not going to go quietly into that good night.
It will rage, and rage against the dying of the light and kill us all instead; or before it finally expires in a blaze of glory.
Personally I don’t see any way to fix it, except to stop the massive spending on the military’s toys and open ended wars; but in the history of the US, ending wars has not been on the menu.
