I'm very proud to announce that Pittsburgh PA is now home to a large housing, retail and studio space for writers who have become political dissidents of their native countries. Exiled writers, journalist and artist from all over the world may soon sanctuary among it's members and within it's walls. We as libertarians who are also concerned about the freedom of all speech should work to help encourage the organizers at City of Asylum to bring about awareness to America's own jailed writers and thinkers such as rececntly released Jim Bell and still sitting locked up in a cage Ross Ulbricht. As many already know, Ross Ulbricht has been arrested by his own government in 2013 for writing computer code that allowed the peaceful voluntary interaction between consenting individuals. His courageous actions helped lessen the violence associated in the underground drug market.
Pittsburgh has long been a destination for immigrants seeking a better life. Much of it's urban areas are making a major come back in terms of redevelopment of old buildings and homes and attracting bright compassionate minds to come to the table in it's future planing. As a long time resident born in the city, all of this has been very refreshing to witness first hand. I'd just like to work and help make projects like this as inclusive as possible. City of Asylum is funded in part though private money, state and Federal taxation.
