Greetings!
I am excited about this platform and look forward to contributing as much as possible to it's growth in the future. This post is a general introduction as I am still basically unfamiliar with this medium. I have been using the internet since my Dad had a phone/speaker modem setup in the 80's and have been an avid user since. The power of the web as a resource to connect people and break down boundaries has been somewhat subverted in my opinion in favor of advertisers. I feel new social media sites such as this one are crucial to keep the internet as a whole oriented towards free exchange of ideas without interference and am very excited to get acquainted with it.
Some of my interests are writing, reading, hacking culture (reading about it & enjoying it vicariously), environmentalism, permaculture, music, and learning in general. Looking very forward to being a member of this community. Cheers!
