Politicians, "left" and "right," want you to be scared of common crooks, but not of robbers with badges—even though you're far more likely to be victimized by the latter. Politicians want you to be scared of some crazy mass shooter, but not of trigger-happy cops—even though you're far more likely to be victimized by the latter. Politicians want you to be scared of scam artists and shady businessmen, but not of the Federal Reserve and the U.S. banking system—even though you're far more likely to be victimized by the latter. Politicians want you to be scared of foreign terrorists, but not of all the federal thug agencies—even though you're far more likely to be victimized by the latter. Politicians want you to be scared of guns in the hands of average people, but not of guns in the hands of "government"—even though the latter are used to commit far more theft, assault and murder. Politicians want you to be scared of all manner of gangs and criminal organizations, but not of the ones called "government"—which are far more likely to victimize you.
If politicians gave a crap about you, or people in general, and wanted good people to be safe, free from being harassed and robbed, they could instantaneously achieve that by reining in their own thugs. But they won't. Because they don't give a shit about you. Their entire agenda is to keep you scared, while trying to convince you that giving them more power, over you and everyone else, is the way to keep you safe. That is a lie. That has always been a lie. Stop falling for it.
