So I've been thinking and looking into Shipping container homes lately and this seems the perfect place to use them. I read that they were super popular for air bnb and can pay for themselves in no time. So whether we decide to try for the land up top or not it seems a viable option. The more I think about it the more I like the idea of spacing the time throughout the year between heavy tourist season here like Sept-April for high end tourists, and the rest of the year for Specific projects.
The issue with this land is that land ownership for anyone in Peru is complicated as hell and the process requires risking years and money to possibly lose it all.
That is the main reason shipping containers makes perfect sense to me. Instead of trying to own the land, why not just pull up roots if need be and move to a new location? It would suck but it is a viable plan B with minimal adjustments in planning needed. And in all reality is probably a great opportunity to create marketing content. How often is your house repossessed by the Peruvian military?
Ok anyway, this is all just bloody conjecture and brain dumping at this point but I think I'm getting somewhere. We could possibly set up a reasonable rent to own agreement that would time out with the legal paperwork for title and payoff.
Electricity can be got maybe quite quickly with a little bribe here and there, but water. Water is the backbone to everything.
It all sounds good, now it's just time to make it happen.
