Chalking is so good for me: it lifts my spirits, it hopefully lifts others' spirits, it gets me outside, and it kicks off creativity. Sometimes what starts as a chalking idea I decide is more suited to a different medium, and I draw it out. I used to draw prolifically, but like many hobbies when depressed, when your brain is a pile of exhausted sludge, you just can't anymore. You have neither the energy nor the focus (nor the ideas for creative pursuits).
These last two drawings I kinda want to explore screen printing with.
Here's the new one I just finished a little while ago:
By the way, I did look at a photo of a cop in riot gear for that doodle. They look like aliens or mecha all armored up, don't they? Is Shinji piloting that thing? Is Asuka in there screaming and losing her mind?ā
The previous one I also want to screen print, or something (as seen on another post, but since I'm talking about it):
I've been YouTubing screenprinting tutorials, and generally they say to get your drawing printed on a transparency to start, and I'm now going, hmm ...can I walk into Staples and be like, "Yeah, I wanna put this anarchy doodle on a transparency, please" without some bootlicker giving me the eye and calling his local brownshirts? š I know, I know, I'm not some dangerous person, but they spy on grandmas with cookies and people feeding the homeless nowadays.
Anyway! I thought I would share. It's one AM again and I can't be trusted to make responsible decisions. š
āNeon Genesis Evangelion reference. One of the best animes ever. If you don't watch anime, I would still recommend it, as well as Grave of the Fireflies. Have a hanky ready for GotF. Have therapy ready for NGE. š
That Red Fish your momma always warned you about
Edit: is it clear that's a riot cop going after protesters for not having a permit? I just thought, people might think that's the anarchist, since we're all big and scary and stuff. š
