Google finally rolled out the beta 2 update for Android P with final API. The update on the pixel is about 300mb if you already have the beta 1 that was released on May 8. To install the update your device must have a charge greater than 80% or must be plug in. I experienced error when I tried updating with a battery of less than 60 percent. Now this are what I noticed
Android P is officially android 9
For the first time since Google as been rolling out preview this is the first version that actually update the version to android 9 when I was testing some of my apps on android studio the API level as been updated to API 28. The first beta version on android studio was recognised as Oreo P and an API level was API 27.
Adaptive battery
Adaptive battery I can say makes the battery lack quite longer and this is very good as modern phone comes with user non removable battery so battery life and span has to b well preserved.
** Gesture button**
!Screenshot_20180607-221407.png]()
The android P as only one button that serves as home and recent app button although u can go to the traditional three button by turning off gesture under the display setting. A swipe up from any app that's u to recent apps and a second swipe takes to to all apps. However a tap on the button that's you to home.
New animation for the volume button
The volume button no longer covers the full top of your screen when u press instead a nice animated volume rack shows at the side of your screen on the pixel the position of this animated volume rack matches with your physical volume button.
Updated DND settings
The do not disturb has been updated to not only silent your phone from ringing but to have other functions as you can see on the screenshot.
Conclusion
The android P may be the best android update ever as Google promise us of new features during the Google I/O 2018. So we keep our fingers crossed till August when Android P will officially be rolled out.
