Until Android 9.0 arrives at the end of next year, we will have new incremental versions of Android 8.0 that will be adding new functionalities. The first of these releases, Android 8.1, is now available to developers.
As explained in the Android Developers Blog, Android 8.1 brings some interesting improvements. The first of these improvements is a set of general optimizations related to the use of RAM for Android Go devices, which are those low-end devices that have 1GB of memory or less.
These optimizations will enable developers to create applications for both normal and low-RAM devices.
