The common waxbill (Estrilda astrild) is an exotic bird species to Portugal, which has perfectly adapted, over the years, to the country. One of its main physical characteristics is its beautiful red mask, as you can see on the photo below, taken near the village of Mina de São Domingos (Alentejo region, southern Portugal).
