One interesting visitor came around our house today - the nonvenomous Zamenis longissimus. There are around the house often, but this one I think it was the first one in this year.
At first, I noticed her, while she was warming up on the edge of the wall. When I came closer, and make a photo she got scared and started climbing on the bush nearby.
It was really interesting to see such long snake climbing up with such speed. When she couldn't climb any higher she made herself comfortable in a strange position.
She almost looked like she is floating in the air. Besides that, you can see, that her color helps her to hide well from all. Our dog found out, that we are having visitors, and he came around. She wasn't pleased with it and wanted to run away.
We take the dog away and let her leave down in peace, and she went under some stone plates and hide for a while. I don't like snakes, but still, I know they do so much good. Eating all the unwanted rodents and animals which could breed too much. One interesting fact I read about them is that they can live for long 25 years, and can grow to about 225cm.
Hope you liked my post, I know definitely did, as I know he made a few posts about snakes... :) Have a nice rest of the day, and enjoy the last weekend in May.
Photos made by me, and my Samsung A5. I enhanced only a little contrast using a computer program Microsoft Office Photo editor, just because the snake had a good camouflage, and she wasn't seen as good as it is now.
