Hello, Steemians! Hi, friends!
Today we will continue the tour of the Museum and see photos of marine life in the Black sea. I hope many of you will recognize instantly, and some of them will seem unusual. I really liked the magnificent Acropora- small-poly corals, which are in nature of a variety of shades and shapes.
In the form of branching Acropora is incredibly diverse: they can be in the form of a tree with sparse or dense branches, deer antlers, bushes of different density or from a disk on the stem extending upward from the young twigs.
At the top of Acropora you will see a small globe-fish or as it is called (the Blowfish and a fish-dog, fish-death or saratel, a Fugue or a famous tetraodon). This is all the names of one unusual round creature with small eyes, which is quite dangerous.
The family of predatory molluscs — cones is also widely represented in the Museum. Today almost 500 types of cones are already described, and the majority of them live just in the Black sea.
The bite of some of these shellfish can be fatal to humans, and the venom of certain species is used in pharmacology to make potent painkilling drugs.
Surely many of you have heard that the largest clam - tridacna giant was caught in 1956, not far from the shores of the Japanese island of Ishigaki. It turns out we have in the Black sea, you can find tridacna. Here she is in the photo.
The Queen of all of these mollusks is considered a giant tridacna, the length of its shell may reach 1.5 to 2 meters, and weighs about 200 pounds.
Museum staff is very conscientious about each exhibit. We listened to a lot of fascinating stories about sea discoveries and the transportation of all this splendor.
