I rarely get to set foot on most of the landing sites that we go to, as my main duty is to drive zodiac cruises and ferry guests back and forth from the shore to the ship. However, I was lucky enough to explore the last landing we had for the season in Antarctica. It is a beautiful location in the South Shetland Islands known as Half Moon Island with a heap of wildlife on the shore to interact with. My favourite of course are the Chinstrap penguins - the mountaineers of the penguin world.
FUN FACT It was also my first landing ever in Antarctica back in November 2017, which felt as if it was poetically perfect to end the season where it began.
