I absolutely do not understand how here on Steemit photos that go in tops, are not only not noticeable as a frame, but also have a quality below the average - such parameters as composition, proportions, frame construction, color-tone relations, histogram, perspective plans and many many other aspects that determine the quality of the image are very poor. But what is more, these images often show gross undisguised results of their processing in the editor - oversaturation, oversharpening, rude illiterate use of the shadows / highlights correction options. The fact that such things float to the tops has a very detrimental effect on the general level of the culture of perception of photographs and of course on the culture of making photography - when novice photographers see that that shots have a lot of upvotes and with this such "quality", they will not try to make their pictures better, but will try to do the same as on such examples.
And most of all I do not understand curatorial projects that either turn a blind eye to what I'm talking about here, or simply do not understand such things.
I would like to appeal to people, photographers and curators - take care of those who look at your pictures or those pictures that you promote, think about the fact that they will constitute the cultural fund of this site and in the future gaining a critical mass will serve as a factor for assessment of the actuality and quality of the overall resource.
And this is my question to you:
