As temperatures soar, a group of Japanese macaques living at Tama Zoo in Tokyo, Japan became affected by the sizzling heat and started picking fights with each other. British photographer David Williams has captured the hilarious moment when a troop of monkeys showed off their jabbing and flying kick skills in the splashing water.
The macaques were not really attacking each other in a hostile manner but play fighting for fun, Williams told the Daily Mail. “Usually the older monkeys are just relaxing in the pool to cool down or have a drink but the young monkeys love to pick a fight with them.”
Japanese macaques, also known as snow monkeys, live in large groups and establish social bonds and order through play fighting.
