Time of holidays is also the time to remember not so amazing things. For instance endangered species that would need our attention to live on our beautiful planet. I will introduce some of them in following posts.
The Black Rhyno
There are two types of rhinos. Black one is the smallest of the two African species. The biggest difference between black and white rhino is their hooked upper lip. They have 2 horns and sometimes even a third small horn.
Why Black Rhino is among endangered species
Its populations decreased in the 20th century because of the wild hunters. From 1960 to 1995 its numbers dropped by 98% to less than 2500. Thanks to the conservation efforts all across the Africa they doubled their numbers later. Now there are around 5000 of them. But it is still considered critically endangered. Their biggest enemy is black-market of rhino horns as it is still threatening its recovery.
Together we should raise voice against wild hunters
