Mama raccoon and her baby play fighting and grooming each other

After foraging for some food, these two raccoons took a break to do some grooming and a little play fighting too. This is the oldest of the mother raccoons this past year; she is such a loving mama and gives her only baby so much attention. She is always play fighting with her lone offspring because unlike the other raccoon families, this little tike doesn't have any brothers or sisters to learn the skills of self defense with.

This little babe has grown very fast, and is the largest of the raccoon babies in Stanley Park. I love to witness these little creatures growing from small little furballs into full sized raccoons :)
