Alkanes, The important organic compounds.
How are things going on with you these days? Guys, i hope this post of mine is going to find you in great health of yours. Today i have made my mind to share something quite different and new from my previous ones. So, we are going to look at the alkanes which the organic, saturated and non polar compounds with carbon, hydrogen elements and single covalent bond between them.e:g petrol, natural gas and coal are the alkane fossils.Their name ends with suffix "ane" like Methane, Ethane, Propane, Butane, etc, Alkanes are classified into two groups. Acyclic alkanes, in these alkanes carbon atoms grow in two or more than two direction to form straight or branched chains, and Cyclic alkanes, in which carbon atoms grow to form ring structures. The alkanes that have carbon atoms from 1 to 4 are found in gaseous state, from 5 to 20 carbon atoms having alkanes are found in liquid state and from 21 to above, they are found in waxy solid state. As we know they are non polar compounds, they have low melting and boiling points, and property of alkanes increase with the increase of carbon atoms.
That is it i wanted to share with you today to refresh your chemistry concept about organic compounds and i hope you will find this post helpful and you know these concepts are written in books in a complicated way and i tried to put them forward in a simple language.
