Hello steemians! Welcome to 「Should You Watch?」, a section in where I watch anime and tell you if it's worth your time, so you don't have to waste your time looking for the good ones.
Today we'll be looking at Baccano!, a hidden gem within anime. Let's Begin.
Baccano presents the viewer with one very special gimmick: There is no one main character. There are many characters whose stories intertwine with one another in the finale, in where everyone meets in the Flying Pussyfoot, a train that crosses all over the US. This is explained in the first episode; the show starts in the chronological end of the story. Because of this, the first episode explains that there's no clear strating point for all of the events that transpire in the story.
This anime is set in the 1930s in America, so naturally a big chunck of the cast are gangsters!
There are also thieves!
And immortal beings! But I won't show 'em to you, that would be a spoiler ;)
This show is very stylish, having a great soundtrack, animation that is good when it needs to, and a very memorable cast of very different characters (One is literally named Jacuzzi Splot, that's a name you won't forget).
So, in conclusion: Should you watch Baccano?
Absolutely YES, this is a must-watch. If you haven't watched this one make sure you do, because you're missing out. If you happened to watch Durarara before (and liked it) you'll feel right at home watching this. I couldn't find a legal streaming site to watch this one, so buy the dvd on amazon (or download it, I won't tell if you won't ;0).
