AkibaSteem is the community account for all cool anime and manga fans on the steem platform.
We find and curate good anime-related content. Of course we also try to make the best possible content ourselves!
Most of us are Otakus, that means we are beautiful, smart, outgoing... just totally normal people.
Of course many of us are also interested in Japan and Japanese culture in general.
We not only upvote and support each other, we also host contests and games and bring people together through anime!
If you also love anime, you can follow this account. And don't forget to come to our Discord here.
Why we are AkibaSteem and why you should too
We love anime and we love people that love anime. Anime is unique and different. So we encourage being unique and different, supporting each other in an entertainment based community. Just like anime is both a combination of fun scenes and philosopical scenes, our community is already a hub for people who laugh and enjoy life while also giving tremendous thought to some of the most deep aspects of society, like two of our members, and
... both fun to be around but also smart enough to engage in deep conversations.
We encourage you to be YOU, to share the passion you feel and to bring forward all those questions and pieces floating in your mind and share them with us. It's also a great place to learn, both about anime and the culture of Japan, but not limited to those either. As shown in this post by : Depicting the japanese animation fan's culture it's a lot bigger than just the TV shows and we're a community that accepts all sides and encourages fan creations.
And we not only support the creation of noteworthy content, but also to be good friends and work together. This text was made by several of us together, and the AkibaSteem community will be what we make of it together!
What's next on AkibaSteem?
1 - Improving the quality of the anime tag by (helping) creating good content
2 - A banner for the community post
3 - Do a weekly steemit post about the new anime posts that we consider good enough
4 - Create an associated trail for curation and supporting good content in the community related to anime and japanese culture in general.
5 - Make lists and suggestions of the best anime to follow each season.
6 - Mascot for AkibaSteem!!! (contest)
7 - More contests!
Besides from these plans we already have a contest that is running for the rest of the month where you can earn shares by writing about anime!
For the unbelievably unlikely possibility you aren't already an anime fan...
...we have a few reasons for you why you should watch anime:
Why watch anime?
If you haven't watched anime (or just a few tortured and ripped apart series on your country's children channel) you might ask why we like anime, and why we think you would like them too. The reasons are simple:
Even the average children's anime has more deepness then a Hollywood Blockbuster.
Anime is mostly about every-day characters like you and me, not some super-rich superhero with super-bad sleeping habits.
A romance anime has more love than a field of roses.
And an action anime more action than even J.J. Abrams could put into a space opera.
If you like fun, you will find countless comedy animes that will make you spit your milk across the lawn to your neighbor.
And if you are fed up with Hollywood's "it must always have an happy end" uniformity: There are animes that will make you weep even years later, just from the sound of their ending song.
Some anime are so philosophical, Hegel would be red-face envious.
Some are so beautiful, the Mona Lisa looks like a toddler's painting.
Others explore the meaning of what humanity is so deep, you will feel the pressure.
And after that, you can fly to the stars with the power of songs.
Those are anime. Welcome to the show.
