Spirited Away
Now it is funny how I got this film into my hands. I worked as a preschool teacher right when I got out of high school, and I worked from about lunch time to about dinner time...like 12-7... So I would show up right when the kids are sitting down to watch a movie and take a nap after lunch. We would pick different films for them to watch from a donated movies bucket, and one of the teachers picked up a burned copy of "Spirited Away"....As we began to watch the head coordinator felt it was inappropriate for kids this age and planned to throw it away. I asked if I could keep it and BOOM! I went home and finished it that night. Check out the trailer for the film:
Art style/Animation.5/5 points
The art style and animation of spirited away will blow your mind. Absolutely the best part about this film. Within 20 mins it will have you so hooked into the bizzare world that you wont know what to do with yourself. The characters are amazingly created with such uniqueness that you cant help but to get immersed into their world. Reminds of of an Alice In Wonderland but done Anime.

This is where I might piss some of you off. Where as production wise this was wonderfully done. I can give it 5 points on the production, but for some reason that little girls voice would annoy me sometimes when she would whine. It drove me nuts... Its just kind of a personal vendetta I have with this film.. but DO NOT let that discourage you from watching. Im just an asshole. The music was wonderfully done. Great soundtrack full of wonder.

This movie starts off with a little girl moving to a new town with her parents. They end up at an abandoned Carnival stand of sorts, and its full of delicious food yet no attendant. The parents begin eating the food with the intentions of paying when the attendant returns.. The girl tries to stop them because she feels that something is not right, but her parents keep eating and eating and eating. Slowly they turn into pigs and the world she is in transforms into a fairytale nightmare of sorts. A world that needs understanding and that is visually AMAZING! .......Thats how it begins... Great hook if you ask me.
Resolution(NO Spoilers) 4/5
The resolution will have you satisfied. Nothing really SUPER unexpected....but leaves you feeling nice and full.
OVERALL SCORE: 9/10 A PRETTY COOL WATCH
While this seems to be a number 1 title on a TON of peoples list, I still enjoyed other films by the company a little more... So I know that is going to piss a ton of you off. This is simply my opinion on the films so I am sorry... I was no moved by Spirited Away enough to call it life changing... but it certainly was fun and entertaining. The story was very well written, the animation is incredible, and I recommend you give this one a watch. It deserves it.
