Hey anime fans! The Dengeki Bunko 25th Anniversary & New York Unveiling Stage event brought us manga and anime fans a big surprise, a new anime adaptation for Boogiepop light novel for its 20th anniversary! We haven’t seen Boogiepop in anime since 2000’s anime adaptation of Madhouse, studio that is also in charge of this new version.
The production team will be the following:
- Direction: Shingo Natsume (One Punch Man, Space Dandy)
- Production: Madhouse
- Script: Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man, Tiger & Bunny)
- Character Design: Hidehiko Sawada (One Punch Man)
- Music: Kensuke Oshio (Space Dandy, A Silent Voice, Devilman Crybaby)
Also, the anime will have different voices, counting with Aoi Yuuki as Boogiepop and Saori Onishi as Nagi Kirima.
On the other hand, Madhouse is a well-known studio that has produced many successful animes, being One punch man, Parasyte, Nana, No game no life, Hunter x Hunter and Death Note among the list (And a lot more, but the list is too big!) and bringing back Boogiepop to anime after all this time will be interesting to see, especially for the art and techniques the studio has learned over the years.
