The Bushbuck - One of 29 Antelope species found in South Africa.
This again is a beautiful buck, which is normally very shy and when disturbed it disappears into thick bush for cover.
They have a wide distribution in South Africa from the Limpopo River Valley, through the Low Veld (which includes the Kruger National Park), through Zululand and along the Indian Ocean coast to the Western Cape.
The males have horns and are quite distinctive from the females. The male can be seen in the above photo and the female in the below photo.
I have found two places where they have become rather tame and accustomed to being close to man.
The Waterberg Private Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province of South Africa (where the two photos were taken) and on the Otto Hiking Trail in the Tsitsikamma Coastal National Park.
