Some more items we have around the house that have survived the years. You can't keep everything and it can be hard to decide what should go. There are some things that don't have much personal value and I'd consider selling those, otherwise the house would be full!
This cricket bat belonged to my father in law who was born in the 1930s. You can see it has been repaired. This may have been during the war when many things were in short supply. It was made by E.J. Riley of Accrington. They also made snooker equipment. They are still around running sports bars.
This book has everything a motorist of the 1930s could need, including maps and details of how each part of the car works. It doesn't have an obvious publication year in it, but may date back to the 1920s. It's not in great condition, so I doubt it is worth much.
What could be in this old tin? I suspect it originally contained tea.
It's full of old coins. Lots with Victoria and some that are even older. I think these are pretty common and none is in mint condition. It might be nice to make a display of them sorted by year. We have some other items like cigarette cards that could also be mounted for display. It's a matter of finding the time.
Stay tuned for the next trilling instalment!
