Anxiety is...
- Feeling like nothing matters and everything matters all at once.
- That voice in your head saying “you’re not pretty enough” or “you’re too awkward”
- Being excited about floor seats to your favorite band, but terrified at the same time, because “what if...”
- Constantly needing reassurance that you’re “loved”
- Making stupid decisions to prove your love to that special someone who uses your anxiety against you.
- An almost deja-vu feeling of worry taking over your entire body.
- Having to make up ridiculous excuses to get out of uncomfortable situations.
- Losing childhood friends because they just can’t deal with your issues.
- Constantly wondering, “why me?” when others seem to lead perfectly normal lives.
- Drowning the fear in alcohol, drugs, obsessive shopping, or whatever else makes you feel halfway normal.
Guys, there’s so much more to anxiety than panic attacks and being nervous. It affects real people, real relationships, and real friendships everyday. Sure, medication can help, but we have to learn healthy coping issues.
