Mercedes team's British racer Lewis Hamilton became Formula-1's World Champion for the sixth time in his career. For the third year in a row, Hamilton has won the World Championship title, beating five-time champion legendary racer Manuel Fangio of Argentina. Now, he is just one step away from seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher of Germany.
Hamilton finished the season with 381 points having ten wins and 16 podiums while Bottas finished with 314 points having four wins and 15 podiums. Hamilton said after the win, 'We went ahead again. Thanks to you all. We did an extraordinary job. ' The British racer finished second in the US Grand Prix while his teammate Valtteri Bottas topped. Max Verstappen, a racer from the Netherlands, finished third. In 2008, he won McLaren's first-ever championship as a pilot.
