... actually hate travelling, but I love being at the destination. It’s the process of travelling - buses, cars, trains and particularly planes, that bother me a bit.
Anyhow, I love to visit places that are steeped in history. This is why I really love North Africa and South Europe. Basically, anything near, in, or around the Mediterranean Sea.
This is me on the island of Rhodes, which is an ancient, ancient island with history dating wayyyyy back. I love to just stand there mind-blown by the thought of how many people, great or otherwise, stood on the same spot in the past, observing the same view.
Depending on what time in history, standing on this very spot I was on, you could have observed Ottomans, Moors, Arabs, Macedonians, Athenians, Romans, Persians or Egyptians sailing in. Totally crazy!
On the day, I believe I spotted some drunk English blokes on a hired boot. I think it was some kind of Stag do. It was probably nothing like the plundering party of Gaius Cassius in 42 B.C., but it looked just as rowdy :)
