... emmering is a municipality in the district of Neunkirchen, on the southern border of Lower Austria with Styria with 544 inhabitants. The main town Semmering-Kurort is a high-altitude health resort and tourist resort. Semmering lies at an altitude of 985 m above sea level. A., and has an area of 8.72 km². The village is located at the top of the Semmering Pass on the Semmering expressway S 6, which has been underpassing the pass and thus the village in a tunnel since 2004, and on the Südbahn, here called the Semmeringbahn.
