I ordered the new iPhone 13 a month ago the moment it became available which I have explained in this post. Just a few days ago, it arrived and here I took some photos trying to be aesthetic like Pinterest kinda thing LOL.
My experience with DHL
Maybe before I proceed with the unboxing here's a bit of storytelling. I have kinda shitty experience with the delivery (DHL) even though the company is known for having a good reputation.
My order was shipped on October 29 and arrived in Davao in 2 weeks after that. The package has been on hold for days in customs so that was the only reason why it reached 2 weeks to arrive in my city, but DHL shipping was fast overall (it came from Singapore).
Once it was about to get delivered, I was notified both by Apple and DHL about my package arriving within the day.
From the bottom, you can see that it's supposed to be delivered on November 15 but for some reason it still says it's in Manila which is not the city I'm in. Anyway, I waited the whole day and they didn't deliver shit.
I was disappointed but it's fine traffic can be quite unpredictable and people make mistakes besides I can just wait again tomorrow.
The next day, it was scheduled to be delivered again but I needed to bring my dog to the vet so I tried texting the number who called me the day before but I received no response. I still waited the whole day since I just have to drop my dog and pick him up so there were big chunk of my time spent at home just waiting for the package.
It still didn't arrive like wtf is going on.
I was actually pretty annoyed already cos when you wait for something especially a package, you have to be on-alert so you don't miss it y'know (they require signature). And I was also pretty exhausted.
What annoyed me more is seeing this on the tracking page:
I got mad reading that straight-up lie on the tracking page. I mean they could just put something like delivery failed that they weren't able to deliver it on their end but now they're blaming me and saying I refused the delivery? This might not sound a big deal to you but it is, cos records like this are important in case something happens.
The next day, I immediately called customer service. Not the city branch in my area, but the actual Cebu branch which I got the number from on the DHL website.
I knew that if I call the branch, they would just ignore me and will just deliver it the next day. I'm not having none of that shit so I could the big corpo. :P
The lady who picked up was very nice to me and accommodating, and of course 2 hours after I called my parcel was delivered straight up to my door. IN A SPECIAL DELIVERY :P
So yeah, they got what they deserve - getting reported to the big guys and delivering it to me in a special way. :D
That's pretty much about the delivery, the package arrived in a very good condition so I'm still thankful.
Unboxing
Yeah the phone came from that box. That tiny box. There was a transparent plastic on top of that brown box but really it's just... that. I first thought the box will be a bit bigger with bubble wrap or whatever but yeah that's just it. Miraculously it didn't have any damage despite not having fragile all around the package tho LOL.
Same shit, phone, lightning cable, and a manual with a pin.
The Pro Max is big in my hands and I need to hold it with two hands to type. This one is bigger than my 12 pro but even with 12 pro I still needed to use two hands lol.
It's also slightly heavier but I don't mind really since I really wanted a bigger screen.
What I really love about iPhones (and Apple products in general) is that you can easily sync and/or transfer your files from your old phone to the new one. That's what I did and it took me only 20 minutes and all my apps, settings, files, everything were already on my new iPhone. I didn't even need to log in on some of the apps, literally how it was on the old one was on the new one in 20 minutes. :D
Of course I really had fun exploring the camera on the first day. Like, really fun. I had macro shots, slow mo shots, and the cinematic mode. I love it! Comparing to the old one this is a lot better. The screen is just smoother and the battery life is top notch.
Will post some of the test shots I did soon and now I'm preparing to sell my old one and reinvest it on other things.
